Barbara Seelos will take over as the head of the office at the Austrian Competition Authority (BWB) starting in April. Her role will involve key responsibilities such as digitalization, competition monitoring, stakeholder management, and strategic agency matters.

Seelos brings a wealth of experience from both practice and academia. She has a long-standing history with the BWB, having served as the deputy head of the office until 2022, which gives her a deep understanding of the agency's operations.

Her professional background also includes work at a prestigious law firm, as well as experience at the European Court of Justice and the University of California, Berkeley. From 2022 to 2025, she worked in the financial sector, where she gained valuable insights into digitalization and innovation.
