The Czech Office for the Protection of Competition has recently conducted unannounced local inspections as part of three ongoing investigations into potential cartel agreements.
In the first case, inspections were carried out at the premises of two suppliers providing services to healthcare facilities. The second inspection targeted two companies operating in the construction sector. The final local inspection was conducted at a company in the IT sector.
During these inspections, the authority is verifying initial suspicions of possible violations of competition law, specifically regarding potential cartel agreements or abuse of dominant position, and is gathering evidence to support such claims.
It is important to note that the execution of a local inspection does not imply that illegal conduct has actually occurred, nor does it guarantee that administrative proceedings will be initiated or sanctions imposed.
