The Autorité de la concurrence in France has initiated a competitive assessment of the AURA and CONCORDIS buying alliances, marking a significant step in evaluating the effects of such alliances on market competition.

This assessment is based on Article L. 462-10, II of the French Commercial Code and will analyze the implications of these alliances in both the upstream market for consumer goods supply and the downstream retail distribution market.

The authority aims to understand how these alliances affect competition, particularly regarding price changes for end consumers and potential risks such as limiting supply or reducing innovation incentives among suppliers.

Interested parties are invited to submit their comments on the alliances by specific deadlines, with the findings of the assessment expected to be published by the end of 2026 for AURA and in 2027 for CONCORDIS.
