The Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) has cleared the acquisition of VASP by Palavras de Prestígio, subject to commitments aimed at ensuring fair access for all publishers to VASP's distribution network for newspapers and magazines.

The commitments include maintaining fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory commercial, logistical, and service quality conditions for all publishers accessing VASP's distribution network. VASP must seek authorization from a Monitoring Trustee for any proposed changes to commercial terms, ensuring transparency and non-discrimination.

Palavras de Prestígio, controlled by Grupo Bel, acquired VASP and holds a stake in Páginas Civilizadas, Lda., consolidating Grupo Bel's media investments. To address concerns of favoritism towards Global Media's publications, VASP offered commitments to guarantee equal access for all publishers to its distribution network.
