25.03.2024 | Spanish competition authority

The CNMC has concluded a sanctioning procedure against Naviera Armas after the company admitted to breaching commitments made during the acquisition of Trasmediterránea in 2018 and paid a reduced fine.

The Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) sanctioned Bahía de las Isletas, S.L., the parent company of Naviera Armas, for failing to comply with commitments made during the acquisition of Transmediterránea in 2018. This breach constituted a serious violation of Competition Law. The company paid a reduced fine of 450,000 euros out of a total of 750,000 euros after admitting responsibility and making an early payment, in accordance with Article 85.3 of the Law 39/2015. By acknowledging responsibility and paying the fine early, the sanctioning procedure was concluded.
