The European Commission has launched a call for evidence to gather insights on the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and its role in fostering fair digital markets and the AI sector.

26.08.2025 | European Commission DMA Unit

The European Commission's DMA Unit has initiated a call for evidence to assess the effectiveness of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in promoting fair and contestable digital markets. This review process is particularly focused on the impact of the DMA on businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and consumers.

As part of this review, the Commission is also considering emerging challenges, including the integration of AI-powered services in the market. The feedback collected from this consultation will contribute to a comprehensive report on the DMA, which is scheduled to be presented to the European Parliament, the Council, and the European Economic and Social Committee in May 2026.

Interested parties are encouraged to participate in the consultation by responding to the AI questionnaire by the deadline of 24 September.
