The Norwegian competition authority has granted approval for Karo Healthcare to acquire Aco Hud Nordic, provided that Karo Healthcare sells the Locobase brand in the Nordic market. This sale was proposed as a remedy to address competition concerns related to the merger.

Karo Healthcare has successfully entered into an agreement with a third party to purchase the Locobase brand, which meets the authority's requirements for an independent and suitable buyer. Marita Mæland Skjæveland, a director at the competition authority, expressed optimism about the new entrant's willingness to compete in the skincare treatment market.

With the approval of the remedial measures, the competition authority has concluded its investigation, lifting the prohibition on the merger. The timeline of the case includes the initial notification of the merger on October 26, 2025, followed by various stages of review and the eventual approval on April 22, 2026.
