Verdoso's Acquisition of The Kooples Approved by French Competition Authority

04.03.2025 | French competition authority

The French competition authority has approved Verdoso's acquisition of The Kooples Production without any conditions, citing no competitive concerns.

On February 14, 2025, Verdoso, a French investment firm, notified the Autorité de la concurrence of its intention to acquire sole control of The Kooples Production. Verdoso specializes in investing in mid-market companies within the manufacturing and services sectors, primarily operating in France.

The Kooples, established in 2008, is known for its high-end ready-to-wear clothing and accessories for both men and women, boasting 184 outlets in France and 86 across Europe. The acquisition was reviewed by the French competition authority to assess its potential impact on market competition.

After thorough evaluation, the Autorité de la concurrence concluded that the transaction would not affect competition, as Verdoso and The Kooples do not operate in the same or related markets. Consequently, the authority cleared the acquisition without imposing any conditions.

The decision, labeled as 25-DCC-47, was officially made on March 5, 2025, and the full text of the decision will be made available in French shortly.
