A joint inspection by the Polish competition authority, tax administration, and trade inspection has led to the recall of nearly 465,000 pairs of sunglasses due to non-compliance with regulations.

The Polish competition authority, in collaboration with the National Revenue Administration and the Trade Inspection, conducted a thorough inspection of almost half a million pairs of sunglasses. This initiative aimed to ensure compliance with safety and labeling standards.

Out of the sunglasses inspected, a staggering 95% were found to either not meet formal requirements or had labeling errors. This highlights significant issues in the market regarding product compliance.

In a laboratory test of 15 selected models, four were specifically challenged for their compliance. As a result of these joint efforts, approximately 465,000 pairs of sunglasses were prevented from entering the Polish market, ensuring consumer safety and adherence to regulations.
