The CNMC has criticized the requirement for owners of tourist homes in the Canary Islands to submit a prior communication to the local council, in addition to a responsible declaration to the Cabildo Insular. This additional step is deemed an unnecessary administrative burden.

According to the CNMC, this requirement contradicts the principle of simplifying administrative processes as outlined in the Law on the Guarantee of Market Unity (LGUM), specifically Article 7, which exempts tourist homes from such obligations.

In related matters, the CNMC also addressed other issues, including unjustified restrictions on crematorium installations in Zaragoza and the lack of official exam convocations for sworn translators, both of which hinder market access and competition.
