CNMC Releases Provisional Settlements for Electricity and Gas Sectors for 2025

The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has announced the provisional settlements for the electricity and renewable energy sectors and the gas sector for the year 2025. These reports reveal critical financial data and market performance metrics.
In the electricity sector, the eighth provisional settlement for 2025 indicated a temporary deviation of -1,440.66 million euros, with total revenues of 8,122.68 million euros against costs of 9,563.34 million euros. This resulted in a coverage coefficient of 82.29%, reflecting temporary mismatches between income and costs.
For renewable energies, cogeneration, and waste, the total settlement from January to August 2025 amounted to 3,068.61 million euros, with the majority funded by the electricity sector. The report also noted that payments to producers reached 323.39 million euros.
In the gas sector, the eleventh provisional settlement for 2025 reported total revenues of 1,983.18 million euros, which is 7.2% lower than the previous year's comparable period. The demand for gas during this period was recorded at 266.3 TWh, showing an increase compared to the previous year.
