The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has approved an increase in transmission tariffs for natural gas by Gasunie Transport Services B.V. (GTS) in 2025, following a temporary decrease in 2024.

The ACM's decision allows GTS to raise transmission tariffs by 52% in 2025 due to factors like a ruling by the Dutch Trade and Industry Appeals Tribunal, higher interest rates, and reduced natural gas consumption. GTS had to return excess revenues in 2024, leading to a temporary 20% decrease in tariffs. The decision aims to balance out these changes and ensure a reasonable return on investments for GTS, which holds a monopoly on natural gas transmission in the Netherlands.
