Krajowy Projekt Energetyczny fined for obstructing contract termination

The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has imposed a fine of over PLN 5.6 million on Krajowy Projekt Energetyczny for practices that made it difficult for consumers to terminate their contracts for the installation of photovoltaic panels.


The President of UOKiK has fined Krajowy Projekt Energetyczny for obstructing consumers from terminating their contracts for the installation of photovoltaic panels. The company charged consumers nearly PLN 2,000 for audits and installation concepts when they wanted to cancel the services. The company also failed to provide a withdrawal form, required consumers to send their withdrawal notice by registered mail or in person, did not provide information on complaint handling procedures, and did not refund money to consumers who terminated their contracts. The fine imposed is over PLN 5.6 million. The decision is not final and can be appealed.
