The Bundeskartellamt will organize the 23rd International Competition Conference (IKK) in Berlin from March 11 to 13, 2026. This biennial event is one of the most significant gatherings in the field of competition law and policy, attracting high-ranking representatives from competition authorities, courts, politics, academia, legal practice, and business.
In preparation for the conference, the Bundeskartellamt will also hold a workshop for younger competition authorities aimed at professional development and international networking.
Andreas Mundt, President of the Bundeskartellamt, emphasized the profound challenges facing competition policy, including geopolitical tensions, digital key technologies, and regulatory independence. The IKK provides a unique forum to discuss these issues with decision-makers from various sectors.
The conference will feature keynote speeches from prominent figures in justice, politics, and business, including Dr. Stephan Harbarth, Teresa Ribera, and Timotheus Höttges, among others.
Discussion panels will address critical topics such as the intersection of competition law and geopolitics, the impact of artificial intelligence on market structures, and the relationship between competition law and regulation. The conference will conclude with a Power Talk focusing on competition in a rapidly changing environment.
