The Spanish competition authority, CNMC, has released findings from its latest Household Panel survey, indicating that 75.1% of households are aware of the social electricity bonus available for electricity supply. Among those aware, 63.1% understand the requirements to apply for it, while 36.9% know of the bonus but cannot identify the specific requirements.

Additionally, the survey highlights that 48.6% of households do not consider the price differences of electricity supply based on the time of day when planning their consumption. In contrast, 28.9% have adjusted their habits significantly, such as scheduling laundry or heating based on price variations, while 22.3% have made partial adjustments.

When it comes to understanding the types of electricity supply, over half (52.2%) of households are unaware of the differences between the free market and the regulated market (PVPC). For natural gas, 44.4% of households with this service recognize the distinction between the liberalized and regulated markets (TUR).

The survey also reveals that 38.5% of households have only electricity and natural gas, while 27.2% use only electricity, and 18.9% combine electricity with butane. The CNMC conducts this survey biannually to gather insights directly from citizens regarding various service markets, including telecommunications, audiovisual, energy, postal, and transport.
