The Polish competition authority has recently carried out a thorough inspection of ten models of warning vests and jackets, including those designed for children and cyclists. The focus of the inspection was to verify the labeling, documentation, and visibility parameters that ensure user safety on the road.
Out of the ten models tested, six were found to have negative results, indicating they did not meet the required safety standards. It is crucial for warning vests and jackets, similar to reflective gear, to carry the CE mark and include instructions in Polish. Products lacking these features are deemed merely as gadgets and not suitable for safety purposes.
Jagoda Kruszewska from the UOKiK Communication Department emphasized the importance of compliance with safety regulations to protect users effectively.
