The Spanish competition authority, CNMC, has released findings from its latest Panel of Households survey, indicating that 52.1% of Spaniards regularly watch channels operated by RTVE, including La 1, La 2, Canal 24 horas, Teledeporte, and Clan TV.
Among the age demographics, individuals over 65 years old are the most loyal viewers, with 68% watching RTVE channels frequently. In contrast, viewership among younger audiences has declined, with only 35.5% of children aged 10 to 15 and 29.3% of young adults aged 16 to 24 regularly tuning in.
The survey also assessed the perception of objectivity in RTVE's news programming. Approximately one-third of respondents neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement that RTVE's news is objective, while 27.5% agreed and 25.2% disagreed.
In terms of children's programming on Clan TV, 37.3% of households with children rated it as varied and of good quality, although some parents criticized it for lacking educational content and overall quality.
This survey, conducted in the second quarter of 2025, included responses from 5,176 households and 8,709 individuals, providing valuable insights into consumer perceptions of RTVE's offerings.
