The Czech competition authority, known as ÚOHS, has formalized a new memorandum of cooperation with the Czech Telecommunications Office (ČTÚ). This agreement was signed by ÚOHS Chairman Petr Mlsna and ČTÚ Chairman Marek Ebert during a meeting in Prague on October 21, 2025.

The memorandum aims to establish a closer collaboration based on clear principles between the ex ante regulator and the ex post competition authority. This partnership is expected to improve the quality of regulatory performance in the telecommunications sector.

Under the enhanced cooperation, both authorities will engage in mutual consultations regarding measures and decisions that may impact the regulated industry. They will actively support each other in resolving individual cases, providing consultations, data, and sharing selected analytical tools and methodologies.

Additionally, both parties will keep each other informed about insights gained from international activities and new legal regulations. Regular joint meetings will be held to discuss the state of competition in the telecommunications sector and to coordinate communication efforts to raise awareness among the public and business communities.

This new memorandum builds on a previous cooperation document signed by both authorities in 2001.
