The Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) has officially approved the acquisition of joint control over Remant Africa Logistics by Africa Global Logistics and Remant. This decision was made on March 27, 2026, following a notification submitted on March 23, 2026, where the parties requested the application of a simplified procedure.
Africa Global Logistics, a French company, specializes in logistics services and multimodal transport, including maritime agency services and port concessions primarily in Africa. Remant, a Belgian freight forwarder, focuses on innovative logistics solutions for transport to and from the Benelux region.
Remant Africa Logistics, part of the Remant NV group, provides freight forwarding services between the Benelux and Africa, covering various sectors such as brewery, automotive, food logistics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and mining equipment. The BCA found that the activities of the parties overlap in freight forwarding and involve vertical links between freight forwarding and maritime transport.
In its decision, the BCA confirmed that the conditions for applying the simplified procedure were met and that the merger does not raise any objections, allowing the transaction to proceed without further scrutiny.
