The Czech competition authority, known as ÚOHS, has approved the acquisition of a majority stake in Znakon Group by Pardubice-based Enteria a.s. The decision indicates that the merger does not raise concerns about substantial disruption to competition in the market.
Enteria operates primarily in the construction sector, focusing on road construction, repairs, and the reconstruction of engineering structures related to road infrastructure and water management. Additionally, the group is involved in the production and supply of asphalt mixtures and engages in various business activities, including development projects.
Znakon Group initially specialized in traffic signage but later expanded into road maintenance, well drilling, and construction activities. In 2016, the company's operations were divided into Znakon Asfalt, Znakon Servis, and Znakon Reality, forming the Znakon Group. The acquisition involves a majority stake in three of these companies, with ZNAKON, a.s. active in construction, Znakon Asfalt operating an asphalt plant, and Znakon Servis focusing on long-term leasing of construction-related movable assets.
During the administrative proceedings, the authority determined that the merger would not lead to significant competition concerns, thus allowing the acquisition to proceed.
