On April 2, 2026, the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) announced its approval of the acquisition of Pludis Group by Orkari, which was notified on March 23, 2026. The BCA applied a simplified procedure for this merger, indicating that it met the necessary conditions for approval.

Orkari is a family-owned investment company involved in the meat industry, specifically in the purchase and sale of various types of meat, including chicken, turkey, game, and pork. Its subsidiaries include Paas Food, Buvens, and Buva. The Pludis Group, on the other hand, is primarily engaged in the purchase and slaughter of live chickens, as well as the packaging and sale of fresh and frozen chicken meat.

The BCA's decision confirmed that the merger does not raise objections, allowing Orkari to proceed with the acquisition of Pludis Group without any further regulatory hurdles.
