The Hungarian competition authority, Gazdasági Versenyhivatal (GVH), has organized a workplace charity collection to aid needy children. The monetary donations will be channeled through the Ökumenikus Segélyszervezet, ensuring that help reaches those in greatest need.
GVH's president, Rigó Csaba Balázs, presented the collected donations to Gáncs Kristóf, the executive director of the Ökumenikus Segélyszervezet, at the authority's headquarters. This initiative is part of a long-standing tradition within the GVH community to assist those in need, with previous collections held during Advent and for COVID-19 orphans.
The GVH employees aim to enhance the Christmas experience for children and contribute to ongoing support throughout the year. In just ten days, they collected enough funds to assist 120 underprivileged children, with each child receiving a support amount of 10,000 HUF.
Rigó assured Gáncs that the GVH community would continue to support the Ökumenikus Segélyszervezet and those in need in the future. He expressed gratitude to his staff during a meeting, quoting a biblical verse: “God loves a cheerful giver.”
Gáncs thanked the GVH employees for their continued contributions to the charity's efforts, highlighting that monetary donations also provide spiritual support, instilling faith and hope in those who receive help. He noted that the 30th Advent Charity Collection has seen participation from hundreds of thousands, with donations exceeding 100 million HUF.
