Today, Boris Vujčić, the governor of the Croatian National Bank (HNB), and Mirta Kapural, the president of the Competition Council, formalized a Cooperation Agreement aimed at enhancing collaboration between the HNB and the Croatian Competition Agency (CCA).
This agreement is designed to improve the roles and functions of both agencies as regulatory and supervisory bodies. It focuses on preventing illegal practices, promoting effective competition, ensuring market access, and integrating innovative methods and technologies into their operations.
Under this agreement, the HNB and CCA will exchange expert opinions on regulatory matters and collaborate on cases where the HNB initiates proceedings related to prohibited agreements or abuse of dominant positions. The cooperation will also extend to providing professional and technical assistance for specific cases and facilitating necessary data exchanges.
Additionally, the agreement emphasizes mutual education in competition law and related fields. This will include participation in training sessions organized by either party, as well as joint training, expert meetings, round tables, and conferences.
The signing of this agreement solidifies the already productive cooperation between the Croatian Competition Agency and the Croatian National Bank.
