The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has evaluated the performances of the three municipal public transport companies in Amsterdam (GVB), Rotterdam (RET), and The Hague (HTM). The evaluation focused on parameters such as cost effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, and service quality. The comparison showed that RET had the lowest cost per timetable-kilometer, while GVB had the highest. All three companies scored highly in terms of on-time performance and customer satisfaction. Starting in 2025, the companies will also be required to report on their environmental impact. ACM conducts these evaluations to encourage improvements in the quality of services provided by municipal public transport companies.
