The Greek competition authority has unanimously approved LEADER's acquisition of Greek Farms, determining that the transaction does not significantly alter competitive conditions in the dairy market.

On July 7, 2025, the Greek competition authority held a session where it unanimously approved the acquisition of control by LEADER Commercial Industrial Food Company over Greek Farms Commercial Company, as per Article 8, paragraph 3 of Law 3959/2011.

This acquisition grants LEADER exclusive control over Greek Farms, impacting the broader market for dairy products, including specific markets for butter and plant-based beverages within Greece.

The competition authority assessed the market shares of the involved companies and concluded that, despite the transaction falling under the scope of Article 6, paragraph 1 of Law 3959/2011, it does not alter competitive conditions significantly. Therefore, the merger does not raise serious doubts regarding its compatibility with competition requirements in the relevant markets.
