The Greek competition authority has officially launched the DICE project, titled 'Supporting Digital Transformation in Competition Law Enforcement', which began on December 12, 2025. This initiative involves competition authorities from 15 European Union countries and is set to be implemented over the next two years, from 2026 to 2027.

The project is supported by the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission and is funded by the European Union under the Technical Support Instrument (TSI). As digital technologies reshape market behaviors and dynamics, the Greek competition authority faces increasing analytical and investigative challenges in identifying and addressing anticompetitive practices.

The rapid evolution of algorithmic business models and data-driven market power necessitates that national competition authorities, including the Greek competition authority, develop robust technical, legal, and economic capabilities. Enhancing digital capacity is essential to ensure coherent and effective enforcement of competition rules in the modern digital era.

In this context, alongside our partners in the European Union, we are participating in a significant project aimed at enhancing the digital skills and expertise of the Greek competition authority and all participating national authorities. This will be achieved through practical training in the application of competition law, considering the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies, as well as through the use of modern digital tools and data analysis instruments to support investigative processes and enhance digital readiness.
