Das Bundeskartellamt hat am 19. September 2025 den Erwerb von Block S des Kraftwerks Lippendorf durch ein Unternehmen der EP-Group a.s. („EP-Gruppe“) in der ersten Phase freigegeben. Der wettbewerbliche Schwerpunkt der Prüfung lag auf dem Stromerstabsatzmarkt. In der Gesamtbetrachtung der Fusionswirkungen auf dem Stromerstabsatzmarkt war die Verstärkung einer im Prognosezeitraum möglicherweise bestehenden marktbeherrschenden Stellung nicht feststellbar. Aus denselben Gründen war auch eine erhebliche Behinderung wirksamen Wettbewerbs nicht zu erwarten.

German Authority Approves EP Group's Acquisition of Lippendorf Power Plant Block S

 The primary focus of the review was on the electricity wholesale market. After a thorough assessment, the authority found no evidence that the merger would strengthen a potentially dominant market position during the forecast period.

 Furthermore, the authority concluded that the merger would not significantly impede effective competition in the market.
