In Q1 2024, the Netherlands witnessed the completion of around 250,000 new fiber-optic connections, with a notable increase in households opting for fiber-optic plans and mobile-data consumption. However, subscriptions bundling three fixed services have become less popular.

The monitor highlights a growing preference for fast fiber-optic connections, with over 7.38 million households having access to fiber-optic connections. Despite this, the roll-out of fiber-optic is uneven across different regions of the country, with some areas lagging behind in availability.

Moreover, there has been a decline in bundles offering three fixed services, such as telephony, broadband, and television, with more households opting for bundles with two fixed services. The combination of fixed and mobile plans is on the rise, with consumers benefiting from discounts and additional data for combining these services.

Regarding telephony trends, landline connections are decreasing, while mobile plans and mobile-data consumption are showing positive growth. The Telecom Monitor, published quarterly by ACM, provides insights into market trends and developments in the telecom sector, based on data submitted by key industry players.
