The Norwegian competition authority, Konkurransetilsynet, has initiated a survey targeting approximately 1800 relevant individuals in the grocery market. This survey aims to understand how suppliers and grocery chains perceive the collaboration climate and trading practices within the sector.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and is part of the authority's efforts to enforce the law on good trading practices. The responses collected will provide valuable insights into the cooperation among market players, contract negotiations, and experiences related to the enforcement of the law by Konkurransetilsynet.

Project leader Torje H. Andreassen emphasized that the survey will yield important feedback for the authority's work on the law regarding good trading practices. The results will also highlight areas that may require increased attention in the future.

This survey builds on the annual assessments previously conducted by the Grocery Authority. Past surveys have indicated positive trends in several areas, such as a reduction in verbal agreements and an improved collaboration climate. However, there are also areas where progress has stalled, and it will be interesting to see if previous trends continue.

The survey will remain open for responses until September 11, 2026, and the main findings will be published on the Konkurransetilsynet website upon completion.
