The Italian Competition Authority is investigating Amica Chips and Pata for an alleged anti-competitive agreement related to the production and marketing of private label crisps for retail chains. The companies are suspected of coordinating to share customers and maintain prices at a level that hinders competition.
The investigation was initiated following a report received through the Authority's whistleblowing platform. Officials, with the assistance of the Italian Financial Police, conducted inspections at the main offices of the companies and another relevant entity to gather evidence for the probe.
