On September 18, 2023, UOKiK launched its inaugural Summer Camp, a workshop designed to introduce students to the practical aspects of competition law enforcement. Over five days, participants will engage with real-life case studies and learn about the authority's role in protecting market competition.

The program is a reward for the best essays submitted on the topic: 'Why and how to protect competition in the modern economy?'. Selected students from economics and law backgrounds will gain insights into both theoretical and practical elements of UOKiK's mission.

UOKiK President Tomasz Chróstny emphasized the importance of market competitiveness in a free economy, stating that the workshops will provide a unique opportunity for students to understand the authority's work and potentially join its professional team.

The Summer Camp schedule includes workshops, integration activities, and discussions led by UOKiK experts. Topics will cover various aspects of competition law, including unfair practices and abuse of dominance, as well as practical methods used by UOKiK in evidence gathering.

Participants will receive certificates upon completion, with top performers offered paid internships at UOKiK's headquarters or one of its regional offices. UOKiK also runs competitions for master's and doctoral theses related to competition and consumer protection, with submissions open until November 30, 2023.
