The Competition Council intervened in OK's acquisition of Coop Denmark due to concerns that the merger could harm local competition in six areas. OK offered to divest and lease out service stations and stores in these areas to alleviate competition issues.

OK will acquire 598 grocery stores operating under various brands and 160 OK stations from Coop Denmark. The approval was granted based on OK's commitments to divest stations in specific locations and lease out certain OK Plus stores.

By agreeing to divest and lease out certain assets, OK ensured that the merger will not significantly impede effective competition in the potentially affected areas, according to the Competition Council.
