The Greek Competition Authority has released its Strategic Plan for the years 2026-2029, which is now available for public access. This plan sets forth the Authority's priorities and action pillars for the upcoming years, ensuring alignment between strategy, operational actions, and measurable outcomes while enhancing transparency and accountability.

The Strategic Plan is adopted in a context of increasing market complexity, rapid technological advancements, and changing economic conditions. It aims to strengthen the institutional and operational role of the Authority in preventing and addressing market distortions.

The plan is built on four key action pillars: leveraging technology and innovation, developing human resources skills and knowledge, optimizing the use of available resources, and continuously improving the Authority's processes and operations.

One of the main goals is to enhance the enforcement of competition law. The Authority aims for a more systematic identification and effective handling of anticompetitive practices, utilizing modern data analysis tools and artificial intelligence technologies to detect cartels and other violations. Additionally, it seeks to accelerate merger control processes and effectively investigate cases with significant market impact.

Another focus is on promoting competition and strengthening compliance culture through awareness, education, and collaboration with public and private entities. This includes sector studies, opinions, guides, and policy proposals to remove regulatory barriers, as well as public consultations and initiatives to educate businesses, public authorities, and consumers.

The Authority also aims to enhance its international presence and collaboration by strengthening its role in European and international networks and organizations, such as the European Competition Network (ECN), OECD, International Competition Network (ICN), and UNCTAD.

Furthermore, the plan emphasizes the digital transformation of the Authority, developing digital management systems and enhancing its digital capabilities. It also focuses on the continuous improvement of internal processes and administrative functions through targeted training programs for its personnel.

With the Strategic Plan 2026-2029, the Greek Competition Authority aims to reinforce its institutional and operational role, investing in effectiveness, transparency, and adaptation to modern economic challenges, ultimately seeking to build trust among citizens, businesses, and public authorities.
