The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division have announced an extension for the public comment period concerning their inquiry on guidance for collaborations among competitors. Originally set to close on April 24, 2026, the new deadline is now May 21, 2026.

This extension aims to provide stakeholders, including attorneys, economists, academics, consumer groups, and industry representatives, with additional time to submit their insights and feedback. The Agencies are seeking comprehensive input to inform the development of updated guidance, which will build upon the previous 2000 Antitrust Guidelines for Collaborations Among Competitors.

Interested parties can submit comments, which should not exceed 18 pages, through Regulations.gov. The information gathered will be instrumental for the Agencies in shaping the future guidance for the business community regarding competitor collaborations.
