Assistant Attorney General Gail Slater of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division has welcomed a new leadership team, including the appointment of Dina Kallay as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for International, Policy and Appellate. This team is set to tackle several significant antitrust cases as they enforce the nation’s antitrust laws.

The leadership team comprises experienced professionals, including Roger Alford as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General, who has a strong background in antitrust litigation and has previously served in the Trump Administration. Alford has consulted on major antitrust cases, including a $1.8 billion litigation against the National Association of Realtors.

Omeed Assefi, serving as Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General, focuses on criminal enforcement and has a history of prosecuting antitrust violations. Mark Hamer, another Deputy Assistant Attorney General, brings over 30 years of litigation experience, having previously led a global antitrust practice at a law firm.

Dina Kallay, with a background in competition law at Ericsson and the Federal Trade Commission, will oversee international and policy affairs. William Rinner, focusing on civil enforcement and mergers, has experience in regulatory matters at Apollo Global Management.

Dr. Chetan Sanghvi, who specializes in economics, has conducted extensive research on antitrust policy and competitive impacts of mergers. Lastly, Sara Matar serves as Chief of Staff, bringing experience from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and congressional advisory roles.
