Slovak Competition Authority Approves Merger in Heating Sector
The Slovak competition authority has approved a merger involving joint control over several heating companies, concluding it does not harm competition.

On September 7, 2026, the Slovak competition authority (PMÚ) approved a merger that involves the joint control of companies EIF, a.s. (Bratislava) and HBz., a.s. (Prievidza) over several businesses including TeHo Bardejov, s.r.o., BARDENERGY, s.r.o., TeHo Topoľčany, s.r.o., and TOMA, s.r.o.
The merger will be executed through the company TEHO INVEST, a.s. (Bratislava). After reviewing the merger, the PMÚ concluded that it does not raise concerns regarding the distortion of competition.
The decision became legally binding on September 9, 2026.
