The Austrian competition authority is pursuing a €1.7 million fine against Traunfellner for its involvement in cartel activities related to construction projects in Lower Austria.

The Austrian competition authority, BWB, has requested a fine of €1.7 million against Traunfellner for participating in cartel activities such as price-fixing, market allocation, and information exchange with competitors in public and private construction tenders specifically in Lower Austria.

These anti-competitive actions were part of a larger infringement affecting the entire Austrian territory, involving various companies to minimize competition, secure contracts, and maintain market share in both civil engineering and building construction, with a focus on road construction.

Traunfellner, cooperating with BWB outside the leniency program, provided comprehensive information to the competition authority and admitted to the violations, leading to a reduced fine proposal with the involvement of the Federal Cartel Prosecutor.
