The Lithuanian Competition Council has granted approval for Swedish company Lantmännen to acquire 100% of the shares of Finnish company Leipurin, along with its subsidiaries Kobia and others in the Baltic region.

The merger notification was submitted on January 29, 2026, and after thorough assessment, the Council determined that the merger would not create or strengthen a dominant market position or significantly restrict competition.

Lantmännen, along with its associated companies, including Vilniaus duona, is involved in the production and sale of various baked goods and agricultural products in Lithuania. Leipurin, on the other hand, specializes in the wholesale supply of food and non-food products, including raw materials for baking.

The merger was subject to notification and clearance due to the combined revenues of the involved companies exceeding the thresholds set by the Competition Council.
