Marita Mæland Skjæveland will officially take on her new role as the head of the Construction, Industry, and Energy (BIE) department at the Norwegian competition authority on March 17. She has been with the authority since 2014 and has served as the deputy head of BIE since 2019.

Skjæveland has been acting as the department director since December of the previous year. Her appointment follows a thorough hiring process that included eleven candidates, many of whom were highly qualified.

Acting competition director Gjermund Nese expressed enthusiasm about Skjæveland's acceptance of the position, highlighting its importance within the authority. Skjæveland herself has expressed eagerness to lead the department during what she describes as exciting times.
