The Estonian competition authority, known as Konkurentsiamet, has released its energy market overview for February 2025. According to data from the electricity exchange operator Nord Pool, the average electricity price in Estonia was €151.85/MWh, while Latvia and Lithuania reported prices of €151.76/MWh and €152.47/MWh, respectively. In contrast, Finland had a significantly lower average price of €47.29/MWh.
Forecasts based on derivative instruments predicting future electricity and gas prices indicate that the highest expected electricity price will occur in the fourth quarter of 2025, estimated at €100.47/MWh. Additionally, the highest anticipated gas price is projected for the winter of 2025, at €47.32/MWh.
The overview also includes data from the Baltic-Finnish gas exchange GET Baltic, where the average traded gas price in February was €53.51/MWh, as per the Baltic Gas Spot Index (BGSI). Furthermore, a comparison of electricity and gas package prices revealed that, as of April 3, 2025, the most affordable electricity package was a fixed-rate option without interruption fees, while the most economical gas package was a variable-rate option.
