The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced the rescheduling of its workshop titled 'The Attention Economy: How Big Tech Firms Exploit Children and Hurt Families' to June 4, 2025. Originally set for May 28, the new date aims to accommodate a larger audience interested in the topic.
The workshop will take place at the FTC’s Constitution Center in Washington, D.C., starting at 9 a.m. ET. It will also be available for livestreaming on the FTC’s official website, FTC.gov, allowing broader access for those unable to attend in person.
This event will gather parents, child safety experts, and government officials to discuss critical issues surrounding the influence of Big Tech on children. Key topics will include the addictive design features employed by tech companies, the erosion of parental authority, and the failure to adequately protect children from harmful online content.
Registration is mandatory for those wishing to attend the workshop in person, and the FTC plans to release an agenda ahead of the event to provide further details.
