The Czech competition authority, ÚOHS, has granted approval for NAPA TRUCKS HOLDING s.r.o. to acquire its competitor, TRUCK TRADE Holding. The authority concluded that the merger does not raise concerns regarding competition and the decision is now final.

NAPA TRUCKS, established in 1998, specializes in the sale and service of DAF and Tatra trucks, including spare parts. It also distributes trailer technology and the Welgro brand in the Czech Republic.

TRUCK TRADE, founded in 1994, focuses on the sale and service of trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers. It has been an authorized dealer for DAF since 1999 and for Tatra since 2017.

In its assessment, ÚOHS examined the market for truck sales, servicing, and spare parts, particularly for DAF trucks, as both merging companies are significant providers of authorized service for this brand. The investigation revealed that DAF truck operators would still have access to other competitive service providers, including unauthorized services, which many customers consider as alternatives.

Geographically, the activities of the merging companies cover different regions of the Czech Republic, with NAPA's service centers primarily in Bohemia and TRUCK TRADE's in Moravia. After evaluating all factors, ÚOHS concluded that the merger would not substantially disrupt competition and thus approved it unconditionally.
