CMA Appoints New Chief Operating Officer Daniel Lambauer
Daniel Lambauer is set to join the CMA as the new Chief Operating Officer, succeeding Erik Wilson, with a focus on strategic leadership and organizational objectives.

Daniel Lambauer, currently an Executive Director at the National Audit Office, will take over as the Chief Operating Officer at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in October, succeeding Erik Wilson who is retiring.
With experience in academia, management consultancy, and the Civil Service, Daniel will oversee various teams in the Corporate Services directorate at the CMA, working closely with Chief Executive Sarah Cardell to ensure strategic objectives are met.
The appointment process for the new Chief Operating Officer was managed by a Civil Service Commissioner to uphold fairness, merit-based selection, and transparency in line with Civil Service Recruitment Principles.
