The Norwegian Competition Authority is set to host its annual law conference on June 12, 2025, at the Grand Bergen. This event will feature notable national and international speakers who will provide valuable updates on significant areas of Norwegian and international competition law.
Richard Whish, an emeritus professor from King’s College London, will traditionally present on the latest developments in EU/EEA competition law. Additionally, Ronny Gjendemsjø will discuss the implications of information exchange between competitors, particularly in light of the EU Court's ruling in case C-298/22 Banco.
Kari Sigurdsen and Simen Klevstrand from the law firm Haavind will address the topic of private enforcement of competition rules in Norway. Furthermore, Gjermund Nese, the acting director of the Competition Authority, will provide updates on the authority's activities.
Inger Sommerfelt Ervik, a senior advisor at the authority, will present on the introduction of market investigation tools, which will come into effect on July 1, 2025. Nese emphasized that the conference is an excellent opportunity for the authority to discuss the implementation of these new tools.
