Jeronimo Martins Polska, the operator of Biedronka stores, is facing accusations from the President of UOKiK for promising product refunds through vouchers without adequately disclosing the essential terms and restrictions of the promotions. This has led to complaints from both businesses and consumers.

The actual conditions for using the vouchers were more complex than advertised, with specific rules and limitations not being transparent to customers. For instance, customers were required to make additional purchases within certain categories to redeem the vouchers received, contrary to the impression given by the '100% refund on a voucher' slogan.

The President of UOKiK emphasized that marketing communications should not mislead consumers and must include all crucial information for making informed purchasing decisions. Failure to provide clear and timely information to consumers may result in penalties, potentially up to 10% of the company's turnover.

This is not the first time UOKiK has raised concerns about how Biedronka informs consumers about pricing promotions. Previous actions have involved campaigns like 'Magic of Discounts,' where significant limitations on voucher usage were not adequately communicated to customers.
