The Slovenian Competition Authority (Agencija) has launched a questionnaire targeting stakeholders who have encountered the simplified merger review process, either as participating companies or their representatives. This initiative aims to gather feedback to enhance the understanding of users' experiences, including perceived advantages and challenges of the process.
Despite the introduction of the simplified procedure, the authority has noted that there are often delays in the completeness of notifications, and there are still areas for improvement regarding the speed of processing after a notification is complete. The Agencija is committed to optimizing the process further by examining existing barriers to quicker decision-making and assessing whether technical or organizational adjustments could suffice for improvements without requiring legislative changes.
Stakeholders are encouraged to complete the questionnaire based on their experiences, contributing to a more efficient and predictable merger review system while maintaining high standards of competition protection. The questionnaire will be available until September 7, 2025.
