The Polish competition authority has recently conducted an inspection of 20 models of wireless speakers using X-ray technology to assess their content of hazardous substances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, and bromine.

The results were alarming, as three of the tested models were found to have lead levels exceeding the permissible limit by one and a half times, reaching values above 1500 mg/kg. This poses a significant risk of soil and groundwater contamination.

Consumers are advised not to dispose of these speakers in regular trash but to take them to designated electronic waste collection points to mitigate environmental harm.
