Advocate General Kokott has proposed that the Court of Justice uphold the €2.4 billion fine imposed on Google for abusing its dominant position by favoring its own comparison shopping service over competing services. The General Court had previously confirmed the fine, but did not find anticompetitive effects on the market for general search services. The Advocate General's opinion is not binding, and the Court of Justice will make the final decision.
