The GVH has initiated a competition inquiry into Wizz Air Hungary Zrt. for allegedly breaching the prohibition of unfair commercial practices. The investigation focuses on the airline's reservation system's operational practices and suspected withholding of essential information regarding service fees.

Following a recent case where Wizz Air was fined over 307 million forints for concealing information from consumers and engaging in misleading commercial communication, the GVH has now opened a new investigation. The authority suspects that the airline may not be meeting professional diligence requirements and could be withholding crucial details about service fees from customers.

The initiation of the new competition inquiry does not imply guilt but aims to clarify the facts and potentially prove the alleged violations. The GVH has been closely monitoring the domestic aviation market in recent years, particularly focusing on practices within the airline industry.
