The Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) announced on December 4, 2025, that it has approved the acquisition of Altrio Group by Waterland Private Equity Investment. The approval was granted on November 27, 2025, following a notification submitted on November 18, 2025, under a simplified procedure.

Waterland Private Equity Investment is a management company that invests in various sectors across Europe, including Belgium. Its strategy focuses on supporting companies with growth potential through a 'buy-and-build' approach. Altrio Group, which operates primarily in the home nursing sector in Belgium, coordinates services through a network of independent nurses, providing essential support and administrative assistance.

The BCA found that the conditions for applying the simplified procedure were met and determined that the acquisition does not raise any competition concerns. This decision reflects the complementarity between Waterland's investment strategy and Altrio's operations, which have shown significant growth in recent years.
